We are located in a 100 year old building on a residential side street in Hamtramck. Please be mindful of our neighbors, many of whom are families with young children, when leaving the bar late at night and keep noise to a minimum. We want to be good neighbors. Thank you!

We are very much a bar. Though we serve non-alcoholic beverages and engage in fun spell processes, all guests must be 21 years of age with a valid ID. For the safety of our business, we reserve the right to deny entry to any person who cannot provide identification in compliance with state regulations.

We encourage guests to take a break from their phones and be present in the moment. That is where the magick happens.

Due to the craft nature of our cocktails, we do not permit outside food. Our cocktails include intentional elements such as scent, which we are proud of presenting. We do have a small snack menu with several offerings. Please enjoy a meal before or after you join us for a cocktail.

Please contact us for permission to bring a cake or cupcakes into the bar for a celebration. We do not offer plates or utensils and we do not permit cakes or cupcakes during peak hours of service on weekends. We want to help you have an amazing celebration, however, without prior permission, we cannot guarantee the ability to serve cake.

The Black Salt is fully compliant with ADA regulations in so much that our building is over 100 years old and not structurally capable of modern modifications. Under occupancy and building permits from the City of Hamtramck, we are in compliance with all codes for operation and have passed ADA compliance inspection.

We are an inclusive space for all who want to visit, however, we are limited to the ways we can provide service and access to wheelchair bound guests.

Weather permitting, we are able to open the back gate to our patio for wheelchair bound guests to receive table service. Our service is walk up only, however, permitting that a bartender is available, we can provide table service outside.

We do not have a wheelchair accessible bathroom.
